This artwork is important to me because it was the first one where this striking colour combination really came together. It was also the first piece that made me think of the term Neon Classical.

Traditionally, shadows are cooler than highlights. Less light, less heat. Then came artificial light, LEDs, and neon. For the first time, we started seeing cooler light sources from artificial light, with warmer shadows created by the natural surroundings and atmosphere.

I would suggest displaying this artwork somewhere it can be lit by natural daylight during the day, and cooler LED light at night, so you can see how the painting changes mood according to its surroundings.

An even better combination is placing it where it faces a fireplace, with a cool LED top light. The reflections of the flickering warm light from the fire, combined with a cool, dim LED light, make the colours dance.
